Charlotte Protests: Governor Declares State Of Emergency

Charlotte ProtestsViolent protests continued in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday night as anger amongst the community continued to boil in response to the death of 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott, who was shot and killed Tuesday.

The officer who shot Scott, Brentley Vinson has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.

According to reports, Gov. McCrory declared a state of emergency in Charlotte and called in the National Guard after Charlotte's police chief said he needed the help. The North Carolina National Guard arrived at a Charlotte armory early Thursday.

Businesses begin clean-up after protesters busted windows and looted properties, police said.
