The day before her 32nd birthday, Crystal Harriman received the phone call that she'd be celebrating in style as the lucky winner of the HGTV Urban Oasis® 2015 in Asheville, North Carolina. Harriman, who works as a dental assistant and lives in Poulsbo, Washington, was randomly drawn from nearly 43 million entries to win the grand-prize package valued at almost $500,000.
In addition to this approximately 1,300-square-foot residence and all its furnishings, Harriman will receive a 2016 Acura TLX and $50,000 cash provided by national mortgage lender Quicken Loans.
"When I got the call and heard the words 'HGTV Urban Oasis' on the other end, my ears went numb; I was in disbelief," said Harriman. "I've been entering all the HGTV home giveaways since 2010. Now my family is all convinced they should enter too!"
Harriman, who lived briefly in another part of North Carolina, can't wait to visit Asheville and see the home for the first time. She and her family will tour the HGTV Urban Oasis with its interior designer, Brian Patrick Flynn, later this month.
The newly renovated 1920s bungalow is a haven of relaxed charm, making it a hot property for sustainable urban living at its best in a trendy neighborhood. The home features an open-concept floorplan with two bedrooms and two baths.
