His acting projects, from television to film are endless. James Rebhorn was a prolific character actor, appearing in series and movies spanning over three decades. Today we say goodbye to the 65 year-old actor who passed away after his long battle with melanoma.
Rebhorn was most recently known for his role in “Homeland,” in which he played the role of Frank Mathison, the father of Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes). He co-starred in films such as, “My Cousin Vinny,” “Independence Day,” “Meet the Parents,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” and the list goes on.
In television, he was seen in “The Book of Daniel,” “Law & Order,” “White Collar,” etc.
He started out in the theater after graduating in 1970 from Columbia University’s School of the Arts. Even while filming, Rebhorn returned to the stage in seven Broadway productions, as well as numerous appearances with New York City’s Roundabout Theatre Company.
Rebhorn will be remembered for his prolific career, often portraying the suited lawyer, politician or doctor.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca Linn Rebhornand their daughters Emma and Hannah Rebhorn.
