Jared Leto Premieres Short Film Inspired By “City Of Angels”

Jared Leto premiered a new short film documentary inspired by Thirty Seconds to Mars‘ current single “City Of Angels” today across VEVO. They treated the 12,000 fans at their homecoming show earlier this month at the Hollywood Bowl to a sneak peak early showing.  The remarkable and moving short film which Leto directed, tells true stories about Los Angeles and features a cast of renowned artists, actors, and athletes including Kanye West, James Franco, Lindsay Lohan, Juliette Lewis, Selena Gomez, Olivia Wilde, Ashley Olsen, Lily Collins, Alan Cumming, Corey Feldman, Shaun White, Steve Nash, and more.

“City Of Angels is a short film about this wild, weird, and wonderful land, Los Angeles, California. A place that has left its mark on the world’s imagination and a place where dreams can actually come true. I made this short film so I could share my thoughts on this incredibly special place + talk to others about theirs. It’s not so much about this particular city but more about the people who inhabit it. This is for the dreamers who know that sometimes the impossible is indeed possible,” said Jared Leto.

“City of Angels” is the second single from Thirty Seconds To Mars 4th album ‘LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS’ and is currently top 10 and rising on the alternative radio airplay charts.   The band released a lyric video last month which already has over 1.5 million views.  “City of Angels” follows the album’s first single “Up In The Air” which reached top 5 at alternative radio.  The short film for “Up In The Air” was awarded the Best Rock Video at the 2013 MTV VMA’s and is nominated for 3 MTV EMA Awards including Best Video.  “Up In The Air” is also up for Best Music Video and Best Cinematography in a Music Video at the 2013 Cameraimage International Film Festival.
