Tis the year to honor Bradley Cooper; first the Hollywood Film Awards and now the Palm Springs International Film Festival. And can we blame the industry for loving him? No. “Bradley Cooper is just one of the many silver linings in David O. Russell’s enjoyable film Silver Linings Playbook,” said Festival Chairman Harold Matzner. “Cooper’s portrayal of Pat Solution is a career best performance that has created Oscar buzz and has audiences rooting for him despite the challenges he faces throughout the film. It is our honor to present the 2013 Desert Palm Achievement Award for Acting to Bradley Cooper.”
The 24th annual PSIFF will present Cooper with the Desert Palm Achievement Award for acting at its Awards Gala. Presented by Cartier, the Awards Gala will be held Saturday, January 5 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Hosted by Mary Hart, the Gala will also present awards to previously announced honorees the cast of Argo, Sally Field, Helen Hunt, Naomi Watts and Robert Zemeckis. The Festival runs January 3-14.
